The program aims to ensure that all people using IT:

Understand why computer security concerns are becoming increasingly important;

Relate the following basic network security goals to their environments: Confidentiality, Availability and Integrity; and

Have at least adequate knowledge of the various management, operational, and technical controls required and available to protect the IT resources for which they are responsible.

 

Through this program the users will be made aware of actions they can take to better protect their organization/department’s information. These actions include, but are not limited to: proper password usage; data backup; proper anti-virus protection; reporting any suspected violations, fraud, misuse, or abuse of program operations and/or systems; and following rules established to avoid social engineering attacks.

 

The program intends to allow individuals to recognize IT security concerns and respond accordingly. After attending this program users, who form the largest audience in any organization and the single most important group of people will help in reducing unintentional errors and IT vulnerabilities
